It's important to stay active, but I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, am I?
Being in an active state is good for both the body and the mind. But...I also know that it's not always easy to find time to work-out at home, get up and go to the gym, or even taking a walk around the neighborhood. We all have busy lives, don't we? Working another job full-time, tending to children that may or may not be your own (I have two extra kids around), going to school...the excuses go on and on, don't they? I've even considered remarrying just for the extra transportation opportunities. I'm convinced that's the most important reason people get married nowadays.
All joking aside, my point is to make time to be active. Plug in that iPod and walk around the block. Use that gym membership you pay for each month. Stop the excuses and make the time! Remember, you are a NINJA after all. You'll feel so much better having done so.
Shallee McArthur started "The Healthy Writers Club", which I joined just this week. It's a great reminder to keep moving. Stop over and join in on the fun.
A healthy writing is a happy writer.
Miranda Hardy is a graduate of Indiana University, Kelley School of Business. She has worked in banking for many years and currently underwrites corporate credit loans. She also writes young adult fantasy and horror novels to keep the voices in her head appeased.

That's right! You have to make time. I go to the gym at least four days a week and now it's a habit.
ReplyDeleteI love this post! It's SO important! Plus, while we put our minds on autopilot during a workout, our minds are free to juice up some awesome fodder for our writing! And yeah! WE ARE NINJAS!!
ReplyDeleteWelcome to the club! :) I love your point about needing to stop making excuses and just make the time.
ReplyDeleteIt is so easy to make excuses isn't it? I go to yoga and have recently started a rather fun zumba class once a week. It may be an effort sometimes but I feel loads better afterwards!
ReplyDeleteI joined Healthy writers club, too, this week! Looking forward to the support from other "healthy writers"!
